changing valve guides

This job can be done, heating the head in the oven to around 100deg. Boiling achives the same result, without all the smoke and fumes that come off the oil when heating in the oven

lapping the valves starts with the coarse grade grit. Then start with fine grit to lessen all the grooves made by the course grit. The aim is to get a thin continues blue line around the seat and valve. Achieving the best seal between the two

prior to fitting

On my last ride over to the Dales I noticed my cylinder head was blowing slightly, also the night before I had changed the needle jets in the carbs from 105's too 106's and ruined my mpg, so when I returned home I ordered a long! overdue set of "NEW" set of Amal 930's I now have them fitted and the bike is running great again :-) so here is the first upload of doing the job.
